Don’t Miss Out on NYS Funding for Your Greene County Community

With applications for funding from NYS’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY Forward (NYF) programs due by September 29th,  Greene County Economic Development wants its communities to know they have a real opportunity to obtain a share of over $200 Million to be awarded by the state.

The Village of Tannersville was awarded $10 Million under the DRI, and the Village of Coxsackie was awarded $4.5 Million through NY Forward.

This year, Round 7 of the DRI will deliver $100 Million state-wide, and Round 2 of NYF will deliver $100 Million focused on small rural communities.  Tannersville successfully competed with community projects ranging from those of large cities to small communities and was successful in gaining 10% of the available funding.  Coxsackie was the first and largest grant issued last year by NY Forward.

It’s important to understand that this is a highly competitive process, but Greene County communities have demonstrated success.  Even if you have applied in the past, these opportunities deserve your perseverance as you make your cases for the needs of your unique communities.

A virtual forum on the DRI/NYF application process will be held by NYS Empire State Development on August 9th at 11 AM.
